Opening Warstein
Room for innovation – opening of Infineon’s new laboratory and office building in Warstein
On 28 October 2026, Infineon Technologies opened a new laboratory and office building at its site in Warstein-Belecke, Germany. StudioZwei covered the day photographically: the speeches and guests from business and politics, the symbolic handover, the tour of the building – and the architecture itself, from the lobby to the roof terrace.
The building
Six storeys and around 10,000 m² of floor space, built as a timber-hybrid structure with photovoltaics on the roof and an energy-efficient heat pump concept. At its heart are development labs on three floors totalling around 1,200 m², where power semiconductors and modules made of silicon, silicon carbide and gallium nitride are tested and developed. Large glass fronts connect labs and offices. Around 350 employees work here, with room for up to 500, plus an interactive showroom, a new canteen and a roof garden overlooking the plant.
Technology for the energy transition
Power modules from Warstein are used worldwide in wind and solar plants, industrial drives, battery storage, rail vehicles, electric cars and AI data centres. The new building is designed to further accelerate the development of these products.
Our work
Architecture photography of the new building ahead of the opening – exterior, interior and aerial drone shots – plus event photography of the opening ceremony – images for press work, internal communications, social media and employer branding.
